Method Man
- (w/ Mary J. Blige) I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need
- (ft. Street Life) Suspect Chin Music
Method Man has neither the flow of Genius or Raekwon, nor the distinctive tone of ODB or Ghost. But he's the star: he's the most presentable of the Clan, verbally, sonically and otherwise. Ladies think he's a rough diamond, gentlemen think he's like them, except he gets laid more. He'd look great in a suit if he could stay off the chronic for a few hours.
His finest moment is the Razor Sharp mix of "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need". He gets the raps to himself, while the switch to a minor key makes Mary J. Blige's Tammi Terrell rip sound ominous. He knows "nothing make a man feel better than a woman", he's "got a love jones for your body and your skin tones", he wants to "live in the fat ass crib with thousands of kids". His idea of love may be unsophisticated, but in a murky world, it seems like a tremendous achievement.
